World Series game one is tonight, October 27, at 8:03 P.M.
The American League is sending Adolis Garcia and the Texas Rangers to try and stop Corbin Carroll's red-hot Arizona Diamondbacks. Both of these teams are fresh of a game seven victory in their respective CS. Texas defeated the reigning champion Houston Astros, and the Snakes took down last years National League Champion Phillies.
What a World Series we have here. The Arizona Diamondbacks were the worst team in baseball in 2021, possessing a record of 52-110. That is truly awful. But here they are just two seasons later playing in the Fall Classic . The D-backs have a mix of explosive young talent in Corbin Carroll, Alek Thomas, and Zac Gallen to go along with seasoned veterans like Merrill Kelly, Ketel Marte, and Lourdes Gurriel. This team just squeaked into the playoffs, one win ahead of the Chicago cubs. But this is the nature of postseason baseball. You just have to get there. Then anything can happen. Expect this team to play a lot of "small ball". They will run the bases well and hit situationally. And so far this postseason, they have always come through when their fans needed it most. They never go away.
As for the Rangers they also lost more than 100 games in 2021. Then, even after losing 94 games a season ago, they decided to go all in this year. They acquired a couple big bats before the 2022 season in Corey Seager and Marcus Semien. And over the course of this year, the Rangers added Jacob deGrom, Nathan Eovaldi, Max Scherzer, Jordan Montgomery, Martin Perez, and Aroldis Chapman. This is an outrageous number of quality arms to get in a single season. But they needed every last one of them with the injury to deGrom. Overall this Rangers team boasts an extremely potent offense and a very deep pitching staff. They certainly have the potential to make this a quick and unentertaining World Series. This will be a very difficult matchup for the D-backs.
Predictions: Game 1: AZ@TEX
I've got the Rangers in this one. Nathan Eovaldi gives a great effort from the mound and the offense gives their fans something to cheer about early and late.
Game 2: AZ@TEX
Now I want the Diamondbacks, they get over their hangover from their game 7 win and get back in the zone. I expect a big game from the veterans on offense and on the mound.
Game 3: TEX@AZ:
The series heads to Arizona for a 3 game stretch. Texas is worried after dropping one at home and they return the favor here. Series is 2-1 Rangers
Game 4: TEX@AZ
The snakes find their footing here again and win handily, not willing to lose two in a row at home. Now its 2-2
Game 5: TEX@AZ
They stay in AZ for one more here and the D-backs capitalize, taking this one too. They move to one win away from a World Series Title
Game 6: AZ@TEX
Sorry Rangers fans, but that first World Series title still eludes you. Arizona can start to feel it, and they do exactly what they did in Philly. They end the series at the others teams home field. 4-2, Snakes win the World Series.
